The Ft. Worth Museum of Science & History hosted the National Space Society of North Texas (NSS-NT) for both a Yuri’s Night event and the NSS-NT Mission to Mars Contest Awards, on Saturday, April 15, 2017.

Yuri’s Night is an annual, worldwide celebration of the anniversary of the first person in space, Col. Yuri Gagarin of the Soviet Union, on April 12, 1961.  Sharing that anniversary date is the first launch of the NASA Space Shuttle program, as Space Transportation System-1 (STS-1) with the Space Shuttle Columbia orbiter, on April 12, 1981.

NSS-NT announced the student winners of the Mission to Mars contest.  Thank you to all of the students who entered the contest, and congratulations to all of the winners.  NSS-NT wishes all of you much success in every one of your positive future endeavors.
