NSSofNT is a big promoter of STEM in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. In February 2013, President Barack Obama said, ““One of the things that I really strongly believe in is that we need to have more girls interested in math, science, and engineering. We’ve got half the population that is way underrepresented in those fields and that means that we’ve got a whole bunch of talent…not being encouraged the way they need to.”

The article is an article about STEM and diversity, especially with girls ages 7 – 11 in the Pittsburgh area promoting the Carnegie Science Center STEM Girls Program. More details of the program are available at the CanTeenGirl.org website under the “Explore Your Future” tab and then “Tour Your Future.”
