Meeting Oct 11 Mars Exploration: Past, Present, & Future
Have you seen the movie “The Martian“? You should, it’s a great movie!
Inspired by both the confirmation of “seasonal” liquid salt water on Mars on Sept. 28, and the release of “The Martian” on Oct. 2, the National Space Society of North Texas (NSS-NT) is continuing the Mars theme. The Sunday, Oct. 11 presentation is Mars Exploration: Past, Present, and Future. If you or your family, friends, or acquaintances cannot get enough information about Mars, then this meeting is the place to be!
Visitors are welcome to attend the NSS-NT October meeting on Sunday, October 11, 2015, at 3:30 p.m. at Spring Creek BBQ-Irving, 3514 W. Airport Frwy, Irving, TX 75062 (Eastbound Hwy. 183 service road, across Hwy. 183 from the Irving Mall, at Belt Line Rd).
Note that the final two NSS-NT public meetings of 2015 are the Sundays, Oct. 11 and Nov. 8, at Spring Creek BBQ-Irving. In December, NSS-NT has a private, members-only meeting, which will not be in Irving. After that, the next public meeting is Sunday, January 10, 2016, at Spring Creek BBQ-Irving.
During the Oct. 11 meeting, in addition to the Mars presentation, find out about the recent space-related public events here in the DFW Metroplex, such as the three (3) events which each featured a NASA Astronaut – including Buzz Aldrin, the second person to walk on the Moon! Additionally, Astronomy Day at the University of Texas at Arlington Planetarium is on Saturday, Oct. 24, and NSS-NT is being featured with presentations and display tables. Check the NSS-NT homepage for updates.
